Red cedar planks are the poster child for cooking on wooden planks—and for good reason. All of the rich, smokey flavor that is practically synonymous with planking as a cooking technique, especially when paired with seafood, comes from the beautiful flavor profile of red cedar.
Using these planks is an upgrade all around. Cooking is easier and cleaner, since the plank is more forgiving when trying to not dry out your food, and any mess that might have ended up on your grill or otherwise is largely avoided. Plating is quicker and more elegant, since this attractive wooden plank doubles as an organic serving dish. Flavor, of course, is also enhanced, since the woody and smokey flavors of the wood are married with the dish.

Red Cedar–preferred choice for salmon
100% Natural Western Red Cedar planks add a rich flavor to fish, boneless chicken breasts or thin pork chops. Each plank can be used to cook up to four 6-ounce portions.*

*Cedar planks should be soaked in water for at least one hour prior to grilling to prevent burning or catching fire.
